Celtic are hoping to bring in £20m from a bidding war for Odsonne Edouard with Arsenal and Leicester City believed to be keen.

The striker is about to enter the final year of his four year Celtic deal with a transfer appearing to be in everyone’s interest.

Celtic paid Paris Saint Germain £9m for the striker in the summer of 2018 after an impressive season on loan from the French side.

This season the 23-year-old has been short of his best but is again Celtic’s top goal-scorer and overtook Moussa Dembele as the record scorer for the French u-21 side.

Updating Edouard’s situation the Daily Record claims:

Edouard is heading in to the last year of his contract at Parkhead and the Foxes believe they could tempt the Hoops with a bid of around £15m.

But Record Sport understands Celtic are hoping to hold off for at least £20m after shelling out £9m to PSG three years ago and the French giants inserting a hefty sell on clause for the front man.

Celts chiefs have accepted Edouard will make an exit this summer after the decision to block a departure last summer backfired as the striker suffered a slump in form after his head was turned.

A major rebuilding mission is in the Parkhead pipeline and top assets who are looking to leave will be allowed to go if the right bids come in to fund it.

At the end of this month Edouard will be in action at the u-21 European Championships and is likely to be in the French squad at the Olympics in July.

With Celtic playing Champions League qualifiers in July it would seem beneficial to sell the striker as early as possible but with Leigh Griffiths out of contract on June 30 Celtic will need to move sharply to find strikers.
