9th September 2026; McDiarmid Park, Perth, Scotland: Scottish Premiership Football, St Johnstone versus Celtic; Mika Baur of Celtic celebrates after he shoots and scores in the 52nd minute to make it 1-0 to Celtic
Allan Preston couldn’t hold back his anger at a fantastic back-tracking run by Mika Baur of Celtic.
Late in the match the midfielder raced back 40 yards to try and prevent a one-on-one chance for Dundee United.
In his short Celtic career Baur’s pace hasn’t been a stand out quality. But his form has earned him two full caps for the German national side.
In an attempt to move with the times Sportsound on BBC Scotland has a feature called Open all Mics.
Randomly they pass broadcasting time around the grounds to find out where the action is.
On Wednesday night they had five matches covered while providing commentary on the match from Tynecastle.
Open All Mics can be a bit chaotic but compared to Liam McLeod or Alasdair Lamont reading out 50 boring and useless stats OAM does provide a service.
It can catch pundits off guard. As they vent their anger and frustrations live rather in a more controlled way during traditional commentaries.
Preston is a former Dundee United player. He would have been in the squad that won at Celtic Park in 1992.
OUTSTANDING FROM CELTIC MIDFIELDER MIKA BAUR?
Preston is also an agent with the CAA Stellar Group led by Frank Trimboli.
Above all he is a Hearts supporter, he was in the media centre at Celtic Park on May 16 and was deeply effected by events that day. Almost as deeply effected as Pat Nevin.
@huell_2 The establishment have always hated Celtic. Long may the hatred continue.

The hurt is obvious. The derision uncalled for but it is welcome to see BBC pundits in their true colours.
Baur’s recovery was incredible. If he was wearing a United top or Scotland short BBC Scotland would have been all over it.
Instead there was despair, anger and sarcasm, par for the course with the Sportsound lads.
After the misery of May 16 Preston would have loved to have celebrated a late winning goal against Celtic.
Some players find their level at Dundee United.
Almost certainly Baur’s career is on an upward trajectory.
At the age of 22 he is a full internationalist respected by Jurgen Klopp.
While wanting to be all young, trendy and laddish the BBC apparently has standards.
Mouthing off your disappointment about an impressive Celtic player is best kept to Kenny Macintyres Special Whatsapp Group.
