11th October 2026; Fir Park, Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Scotland; Scottish Premiership Football, Motherwell versus Celtic; Celtic manager Martin ONeill
According to Football Insider ‘Martin O’Neill ‘ready to leave Celtic’ as replacement lined up’.
WOW.
There’s a story, they even have an expert and an insider on the case. What a scoop.
So time to scroll down to the juicy bit of the story.
The expert spilling the beans is Mick Brown. An expert barely known inside his own family let alone across the Celtic support.
Who is this Insider Brown?
According to Transfermarkt Brown was a scout at Manchester United from 1998 to 2007.
His whereabouts after that are a mystery but he did turn up in a similar role at Spurs from 2010 to 2012.
Decent gigs, getting paid to watch football but hardly cutting edge. He could have been scouting for the Junior Academy or like Micky Beale at Liverpool working with the elite u6 to u9 squads.
And Brown’s lowdown on O’Neill’s situation at Celtic, as revealed by Football Insider is:
I wouldn’t expect O’Neill to leave Celtic between now and the end of the season
It seemed like a possibility for a while, but they’ve moved past that, they’ve returned to their top form and they’re still on course to do well in the league this season.
But I don’t think there’s any chance he could stay longer than what’s currently planned, I think he’s ready to leave Celtic at the end of the season regardless of what happens.
How’s that for bombshell news. On September 20 O’Neill said he’d take time out to self reflect, he was back in charge of Celtic for their next match.
All widely known.

However there was more to come from Brown:
So the club will have to make a decision about who comes in to replace him, and they know he’s going to be leaving, so they can start putting plans in place already.
They’ll be looking at different options behind the scenes and holding talks about who might be the best candidate, even if nothing is going to be advanced yet.
They’ll want to have a succession plan in place, because otherwise we’ll get to the summer and they’ll start scrambling to see who might be available.
In summary Brown knows absolutely nothing.
He has followed recent events and repeated them.
Basically a manager on a contract wants to see it through for every pay day.
Club knows that manager may leave at the end of the season, he will need replaced.
Thank you Mick Brown for another stunning scoop via Football Insider.

Nancy was binned after 6 losses in 8 games, well should we lose tomorrow then MON will have lost 6 of the last 8????
Did Martin himself state that this was his last season and wasn’t looking to activate the extra season or did I misunderstand?
You are right to be cynical.
He signed a 12 month deal with a one year option, only a fool would dismiss the prospect of Celtic going into next season with good ol Martin cracking jokes about his age and sharing stories from the Seville run in 2002/03.
More click bait shite from ‘Football insider’ I wish they would just disappear a bunch of muppets
The good news is that these days advertisers look for engagement, not clicks.
They want folk to stay on a page, scroll down and return again in future days.
Big HEADLINES like FI provide then scrolling for badly diluted content is a big own goal.
Folk will take a peek but they get to understand the websites with content that doesn’t treat readers like idiots.
