3rd June 2023; Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland: Scottish Cup Football Final, Celtic versus Inverness Caledonian Thistle; Peter Lawwell, Dermot Desmond and Michael Nicholson in the stand
Ian Paul Joy is making sure that Celtic’s European humiliation isn’t being air-brushed over.
The one time Stirling Albion defender has cracked broadcasting in the USA where he provides insight and analysis on the the three UEFA competitions.
While Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Sunderland give their fans something different to cheer Celtic provide a different experience.
While the club constantly flogs merchandise with a Lisbon Lions stamp the 60th anniversary of that landmark is turning into a major humiliation on the pitch.
Demoted into the secondary UEFA competition Celtic are sitting on four successive defeats in European competition. Only a fool would bet against Besiktas extending that run.
The Turks will produce all the fawning social media content. Video clips of the empty eerie stadium the night before.
Then share their post match celebrations as yet another club exposes the limitations of the current Celtic regime.
- Where reaching the group phase is considered success.
- Where the £17,000 a week CEO is afraid to speak.
- A club with an interim Chairman and manager counting down his paydays.
- And where extra lashings of contempt is the favoured diet served up to fans. If they dare question the failings of the club they are branded as entitled and warned of the dangers of swinging and missing.
LASK Linz, Ferencvaros, Benfica and Celta Vigo haven’t missed.
They found a huge weak and vulnerable target and hit it repeatedly.
CELTIC- THE MANAGED DECLINE RUNS OUT OF CONTROL
Ian Paul Joy translated the true meaning of last night’s defeat brilliantly to North American viewers.
The much loved Irish/Scottish club called Celtic are a laughing stock. In 35th place out of 36 in the Europa League.
Perhaps in the Club House at some exclusive Golf Club a few members are laughing at the club that Dermot Desmond is very closely associated with.

Joy didn’t sugar coat his analysis of the action in the ‘old country’:
This squad was not built for European success. And yes, right now they are the best side in Scottish football, alongside ‘Rangers’ who are starting to challenge once again.
But, on the European stage this has taught us a big lesson once again.
I will not be quiet, I will continue to go on and on and on.
Celtic have been formed, with this group of players have been formed to be successful domestically .
But actually, whoever is running the club, whoever is bringing these players to the football club clearly doesn’t have European experience, or doesn’t have the European knowledge or doesn’t have the European analytics to be able to put the squad together.
They are so far away from being competitive. They are conceding far too many goals just now. They are so vulnerable.
You won’t find anyone in the Scottish media speaking so honestly.
Joy and CBS don’t depend on invites to Celtic media conferences or keeping their place in the club news circuit.

Listen this is not easy for me or will it be for any Celtic fan, but reality has to be faced. Celtic will not qualify for the knock out stage of the Europa league,it’s gone and that is down to a lack of investment in the team to compete at that level. The board don’t care about Europe,so I asked a simple question why should I continue to pay for a ticket to see Celtic in Europe when it’s clear the board only wants my money, so I have came out of the home ticket scheme and I urge all who are in it to do the same. Let’s put our full backing into supporting Celtic in the league Hail hail
