Olivier Ntcham is reported to have agreed terms to join AEK Athens to end a four-year spell at Celtic.

The midfielder has a year left to run on his Celtic contract but it is unlikely that Celtic will be looking for anything more than a nominal fee although his move could be tied in with the payments on the transfer of Vasilis Barkas last year.

Celtic paid Manchester City £4.5m for Ntcham in July 2017 with the Frenchman instantly making a big impact on the side from the centre of the park.

Following the departure of Moussa Dembele in August 2018 the form of Ntcham seemed to decline although he did sign a contract extension in November of that year.

A loan spell at Marseilles in January 2021 didn’t appear to do anyone any favours with his exit to AEK Athens unlikely to upset many fans who watched his performances dip alarmingly following an exceptional first season.
