A number of Celtic fans aren’t convinced that offering Leigh Griffiths a new contract is the best way to start a revolution.
Many however look at the reality of the rebuild that the club is facing and feel that the 30-year-old can’t be ditched at this stage.
It is four years since Griffiths was a genuine force in the Celtic side, providing back-up and competition to Moussa Dembele during the Invincible season.
Since then it has been downhill, in December 2018 Brendan Rodgers announced that the Scotland striker needed time out to deal with matters that have never been disclosed.
There has been occasional bursts of form from Griffiths since then, notably in the 13 domestic games following the winter break in January 2019 but Lockdown impacted him more than any other player.
During the 2020/21 season Griffiths never completed a full 90 minutes, with just two goals scored since the turn of the year he has had to watch from the sidelines as Scotland compete in the European Championships.
Ange Postecoglou has put in a phone call which suggests that there may be another contract on offer, not all Celtic fans are convinced that it is a wise move.
Should Postecoglou offer Leigh Griffiths another contract?
Yes, no brainer, best striker in Scotland
No way, he's had too many chances
? Leigh Griffiths has confirmed he’s held talks with new Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.
The striker said talks were positive and he’s to report to Lennoxtown next week to meet Ange in person.

Hibs picked up a 24 year old striker for 360k that’s younger, stronger, faster and out performing Griffiths. The guy is 30 years old and done nothing for 4 years. Rogic is the same. Keeping these players will only prevent us from moving on to better things and competing

“I’ve not missed a training session in 6 months!”
Try 6 years Leigh, that’s the professionalism we’re going for.
