Only reporters actually attending today’s Yokohama Marinos v Honda Emperors Cup tie will get post match access to Ange Postecoglou.
Since the Australian was linked with the vacant manager’s job at Celtic there has been an increasing media focus on Yokohama matches and the post match comments of their Australian manager.
Over the last year there has been a tendency to manage media access through Zoom calls which reduces the chances of follow up questions or another reporter picking up on a theme with a new angle.
Good morning, #CelticFC fans.
If you’re wondering if/when news will be coming out of the Yokohama F. Marinos camp you’ll have to be patient – only media attending tonight’s Emperor’s Cup game (vs. Honda FC) in person are being given access to the press conference.

So if you’re wondering what Ange Postecoglou has to say about anything, your guess is as good as most of ours and the club appears set – for better or for worse – to maintain control of the narrative for a little bit longer.

After Sunday’s J League draw away to Consadole Sapporo Postecoglou quickly closed down his media conference after giving a stock answer about his focus being on Yokohama.
Following the announcement that Eddie Howe had turned down the offer to manage Celtic the club is badly in need of getting someone in the door to move the story on from the failure to land the former Bournemouth boss.
If deals have been agreed with Yokohama and Postecoglou Celtic will turn their attention to the issues of a Work Permit and getting around the requirement for a UEFA Pro Coaching Licence.
