Vasilis Barkas is reported to have rejected the chance to go out on loan.
At the end of his first season the keeper looked a near-broken man after sharing duties with Conor Hazard and Scott Bain.
Taking over from Fraser Forster was always going to be a huge task but with an ever-changing defence and the collapse of any sort of title challenge the man from Athens took much of the blame from frustrated fans.
Barkas appears to be settled in Celtic. No1 with Postecoglou in friendly matches v Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton. Thoughts for a loan are now gone @CelticFC #Celtic #CelticFC #Barkas

With a Greek-Australian now in charge of Celtic it looks like Barkas will be given a fresh start at the club, that view was reinforced with Real Sociedad announcing the signing of Mat Ryan today.
On Wednesday night Celtic face Bristol City before the final pre-season match on Saturday when Preston North End.
With incoming transfer activity on the slow side, it looks very likely that Barkas will start the season as Celtic’s first choice keeper.
