Celtic are reported to be interested in signing Brandon Soppy from Rennes.
The source of the story is Italian based transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano who recently broke the news of interest in Carl Starfelt which seems to be solid enough.
Celtic were first linked with Soppy back in March 2020 before he had played a first team match, now after starting five matches and appearing as a substitute in a further five he is still on Celtic’s radar.
Celtic are interested in signing Brandon Soppy from Rennes [19, huge talent] as new left back. Talks opened – but there are also French clubs in the race. ?? #Celtic #Rennes #transfers

With so much uncertainty around Celtic at the moment it would be a huge risk to spend big on a largely untried 19-year-old regardless of his potential.
Right-back is a position that has become a priority to strengthen with Tony Ralston, Lee O’Connor and Osaze Urhoghide used in that role during the friendly matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic.
Celtic have had a strong French connection in recent years but this window is likely to see the departures of Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham.
