Since last weekend there has been an air of expectancy that Odsonne Edouard was on his way to join Brighton.
The pieces all linked together quite convincingly. With £50m coming in for Ben White, a shortage of strikers at the club and contact with Celtic through Shane Duffy’s deal a year ago it seemed likely that Edouard’s four year Celtic stay was over.
On Tuesday the Daily Record went as far as publishing the detail of the add ons to the basic transfer fee.
Against Midtjylland Edouard turned in possibly his least effective ever performance. If he had been taken in by the speculation that he was moving he might be in for a shock.
Had parked this to avoid repeating myself but, since so many people keep on asking/reporting. #BHAFC
Here’s how things stand at the moment with Brighton and Edouard.
Not made an offer, not even an inquiry.

After 32 years watching Brighton for the local Argus daily newspaper, from the Goldstone Ground through to the glory days of Adam Virgo, Paddy McCourt and Beram Kayal, Naylor has typed about everything imaginable at Brighton and more.
There may be other forces at work to deliver Edouard to the south-coast but when a well-connected local reporter comments like that there is more than likely a strong element of substance to it.
