Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard haven’t taken part in training at Celtic’s Welsh base and will miss Wednesday’s friendly against Bristol City.

Ange Postecoglou is looking at Saturday’s match at home to Preston to get close to his side to face Midtjylland but a week before facing the Danes he’ll be concerned over Ajer and Edouard missing out on training.

Although both players are expected to leave during the transfer window overcoming the Danes would be a big boost for the club and get Postecoglou’s reign off in the right direction.

The Daily Record reports:

Ajer didn’t train yesterday in Wales ahead of tonight’s friendly clash with Bristol City, while in-demand Odsonne Edouard was unable to take part fully after a thigh knock in Saturday’s win over Charlton.

Edouard is also looking to move but should be fit for next week’s Champions League clash with Midtjylland, with striker Leigh Griffiths’ Celtic future still in limbo.

Playmaker Tom Rogic could return this evening but defender Boli Bolingoli is not fit yet after returning to the fold following his loan spell with Istanbul Basaksehir last term.

Albian Ajeti looks like being the only striker available for Wednesday’s match although Ryan Christie or Mikey Johnston could be pushed into the striking position.

Last season Edouard missed the match against Feyenoord due to injury, Neil Lennon opted to go with Christie while Patryk Klimala was left on the bench in a clear sign that his manager didn’t trust him in a European tie.
