Celtic are still in the market for Legia Warsaw defender Josip Juranovic.
On Wednesday it was being reported that terms had been agreed between the clubs on the back of Legia’s Champions League exit.
Celtic have been on the lookout for a right-back but the urgency has been reduced by the form of Tony Ralston under Ange Postecoglou.
Manchester City prospect Jan Couto was reported to have been at Celtic’s Europa League match with Jabolec with a view to a possible loan deal but according to the source that broke the Juranovic story negotiations are continuing.
?BOOOM!?
?Update: As per our sources, deal is still not off, but there was a big hit. Verbally @CelticFC board agreed on one price, but then their formal offer was a lot smaller then expected. Both Juranovic and @LegiaWarszawa were interested, but this changes everything.(1/2) https://t.co/s0obRLFLJq— Ižak Ante Su?i? (@IASucic) August 13, 2021
Celtic have less than three weeks to complete their transfer business, despite the form of Ralston it seems that right-back remains a position in need of strengthening.
Carl Starfelt is the only defender brought in by Ange Postecoglou so far as he reshapes the Celtic squad that he inherited during the summer.
