After guiding a depleted squad to a 0-0 draw in Alashkert Gary McAllister has revealed that Steven Gerrard will have four or five more players available to face Celtic.

Kemar Roofe and John Lundstram missed last night’s match through suspension with James Tavernier, Allan McGregor, Jon McLaughlin, Ryan Kent and Scott Wright left out of the trip to Armenia for unknown reasons.

Discussing squad options for Sunday, McAllister told The Sun:

We’ll have everyone who was here in the squad tonight. And we’ll be bolstered by another four or five.

We’ve got players who have been dealing with C*vid issues, we’ve got players who have been suspended and we’ve got players who have been carrying little niggling injuries. So we’ll be well bolstered for the weekend.

A six hour flight on successive days won’t have helped Gerrard’s squad prepare for Sunday but they do have the consolation of a place in this morning’s Europa League draw.

Both team’s go into Sunday’s match with two wins and a defeat from three matches but Celtic take an impressive 13-2 goal difference across the city with the home side’s record reading 7-3.

Team news for Sunday won’t be revealed until 10.45 with both sides having to raise their game less than three days after away qualifiers in the Europa League.
