There was one surprise when Ange Postecoglou announced his Celtic side to face Jablonec last night.
Liel Abada, who had scored the first competitive goal of the Australian’s reign was missing with the rest of the XI comprising the players that had demolished Dundee 6-0 on Sunday.
James Forrest stepped in on the right wing, did his usual quietly effective role and popped up with a late goal and celebrated as if it was his first.
Before the first leg against Midtjylland there was a feeling that Postecoglou would have a job filling up the eleven jerseys, with Forrest and Abada he has choice and options with the Israeli likely to be available to face Hearts on Sunday.
The Daily Record reports:
Liel Abada missed the match with a slight knock but should be fit for Sunday’s cup clash with Hearts.
James McCarthy wasn’t registered with UEFA for last night’s match but after 10 days training he’ll be looking to feature at some stage against Hearts.
Celtic’s recruitment drive is still in full flow but with less than three weeks to go the first phase of Ange’s rebuild will soon be drawing to a close.
