After a day waiting for action, the club from Ibrox issued another bland statement late on Monday about the latest racist activities of their fans.
Last week it related to abuse of Kyogo Furushashi, yesterday the statement template was slightly adjusted to point towards the Sunday morning march through Glasgow city centre.
Neither statement mentioned those on the receiving end of the attacks. Alone among Scottish pundits Michael Stewart is prepared to comment on the racism issues in and around Ibrox.
Covering the issue isn’t likely to help his career prospects but Stewart prefers to do the right thing rather than advance up the ladder.
Despite the events of the last 10 days there has been no comment from the SFA or SPFL about the songs and actions of the Ibrox supporters.
The club are quick to talk up their ‘Everyone, Anyone’ campaign. It’s be interesting to know if they’ve sent a single fan to “rehab” like they said would be the case when they launched. If not then it seems words are cheap.

“My Name’s wee Sammy, and I’m a bigot.”
“Hi Sammy!!”
“It’s been 10 days since my last FTP, and a week off the Billy-Boys”
“Fair play to you Sammy. One day at a time. You’re a total inspiration, Sammy!” pic.twitter.com/v2yeP80rOP— ?Rusty Zip ?? (@meetingsmonkey) August 30, 2021

The statement was lip service, end of story. They don’t care.

Not a chance will you hear the New Club condone the anti-irish racism that was heard in Glasgow yesterday. More like they will get another invite along for a sing song in dressing room.
