While congratulating his fellow board members on the accounts for last season Ian Bankier couldn’t spell the names of two strikers correctly.

The underwhelming message from the Chairman accompanying the report didn’t go down well with supporters concerned that finishing second in the SPFL Premiership is viewed as a highlight.

On deadline day last month Odsonne Edouard was sold to Crystal Palace. After four years of delivering crucial goals the Frenchman was named as Odsonne Eduard by his former Chairman.

A quick look at the club website would reveal that Giorgos Giakoumakis was brought in from VVV Venlo to replace Edouard, according to Bankier the first name of his new striker is Georgios- two spelling mistakes in one name.

Celtic did report a loss of £11.5m which effectively mirrored the drop in come from £70.2m to £60.8m. The transfers of Kris Ajer, Edouard and Ryan Christie should ensure a profit for the 21/22 season.

Bankier also used Kristoffer and Kridtopher in relation to Brentford’s new defender in successive paragraphs.
