The Robbie Brady to Celtic rumour has been put on hold with the midfielder joining Bournemouth today on a deal until the end of this season.

Like most Irish internationalists the midfielder has regularly been linked with a move to Celtic but unlike Shane Duffy and James McCarthy no deal has been concluded. Similar to linking Southampton with Celtic players it seems fool-proof to link Celtic with avalable Irish internationalists.

As a 29-year-old free agent Brady is certainly an attractive prospect but 12 EPL starts last season and five the previous season have raised concerns about his fitness.

Bournemouth are looking a strong bet for promotion back to the EPL after losing out to Brentford in last season’s play-off semi-final.

New manager Scott Parker has bought wisely during the close season with Ryan Christie coming in from Celtic on deadline day.

After 12 matches Bournemouth are top of the Championship table, five points clear of Coventry and Fulham who are in joint third place.
