It was a scene that only Celtic could create.

A European President, fairly casually dressed attending a Celtic match, stopping for pictures in his hoops and scarves and being greeted with a few ‘Hail Hails’ and the odd ‘awe right mate’ as he met total strangers.

Celtic does strange things to people, even politicians that had been largely unaware of the club for most of their life get effected by it.

Iler Meta’s introduction to Celtic in Sarajevo is fairly well documented, after meeting a small band of fans in Sarajevo he was mixing with over 50,000 supporters sharing the joy and excitement of a European match.

The President could have been any fan of a certain age as he made his way towards the stadium, security around him was light as he went on the sort of walkabout that very few Scottish based politicians would be prepared to take part in.

It was great to see Ilir at his first Celtic game at paradise. He looked like he loved every minute of it and was willing to have his picture taken with fellow supporters. What about that support, could any other club in the world have got 50,000 plus fans at a 3.30 Tuesday afternoon kick-off for a Europa League fixture? I doubt it very much and what a day for all of us. The first half we were decent but the second half we were exceptional and should have won more convincingly than we did. If we can get a result in Hungary then we’ll just about guarantee a Conference League place after the new year but if Leverkusen xan beat Betis twice then the last group game could be a winner takes all for a last 32 place from our group, after the start we had it would be a remarkable turn around let’s hope we can do it.
