The good-will and patience of Ange Postecoglou towards Scottish football reporters is wearing thinner by the week.
When the word mate features in his replies it doesn’t tend to be in a chummy fashion.
Yesterday’s media call was a bit different, rather than thoughts about facing Hibs tonight those invited into the call required soundbites about Walter Smith to be added to their tributes to the former Rangers manager.
Postecoglou obliged, making it clear that while coaching in Australia he was well aware of Smith, his career and achievements.
The opening question was clumsy but the Celtic boss helped out. Clearly not listening to the reply and having a follow-up question already planned it got too much for Postecoglou.
Since he set foot in Scotland there has been an underlying feeling at his media conferences that he won’t really know much about the domestic game.
Before his SPFL opener at Hearts he was quizzed, in reply he discussed some former Australian internationalists that he had worked with from Tynecastle. That hint doesn’t seem to have sunk in; the tone of the questioning continues with Celtic fans loving how he bites back!
I feel sorry for Ange at times.
How many times will the media assume he hasn’t a clue about Scottish football?
Time and time again he has to prove what knowledge he has of our game. pic.twitter.com/WRoIjwZtIY

Scottish sports journalistic stupidity ?! It’s like a prerequisite to continue the legacy of chic young, Hugh Keevins, et al.

The hack who asked that ridiculous question was hoping to get an answer that they could put a negative headline on
He’s too wide for them
