It has been a two year wait but finally the President of Albania got tp celebrate a Celtic goal live in Paradise.
Back in July 2019 Iler Meta was on a routine visit to Sarajevo but a lunchtime meeting with some Celtic fans turned out to be life changing.
Over the last two years he has published regular tweets about Celtic’s progress, taking particular interest in Albian Ajeti and young Rocco Vata.
Yesterday the big day arrived as Albania’s President touched down in Glasgow with the Vata family as part of the welcome party. This afternoon he made it to Celtic Park for the big event.

Celtic made the wait and the journey worthwhile. Early in the second half Jota played a ball through to Kyogo Furuhashi that won’t be bettered anywhere in Europe this season. Two touches later and the ball was in the net with Mr President on his feet alongside 50,000 others.
