Thirty-three hours before kick-off Celtic supporters have been informed that there will be no away ticket allocation for the Europa League tie against Ferencvaros.

From the time that the draw was made for the competition Celtic warned fans that there were no guarantees over getting tickets for the three away matches.

Initially there was an allocation for Real Betis but conditions changed although hundreds of fans enjoyed a few days in the Spanish sunshine with a few managing to finds ways into the stadium.

Celtic have been in talks for some time with Ferencvaros, Hungarian fans attended the match in Scotland two weeks ago but it seems that a European Union issue is at play for tomorrow’s match in Budapest.

That seems to have struck a raw note with some Irish fans who have the European Vaccine Passport, other Celtic fans based across Europe also have the required documentation.

Fans travelling to Hungary knew that there were no guarantees over tickets for the match but finding out the day before that they won’t get in isn’t going down well with some.
