Hibs players were pelted with missiles as they celebrated their third goal at Hampden yesterday.
Martin Boyle drove his penalty past Allan McGregor to put his side 3-0 in front and raced over to towards the corner flag where he was joined by delighted team-mates.
Unfortunately a number of missiles were thrown at the players with the tickets all allocated to Ibrox Season Ticket holders and My Gers members.
To get into Hampden fans needed to produce evidence of being double vaccinated but it seems that the security checks failed to uncover cans and bottles smuggled into the stadium.

The Sun reports:
HIBS’ stars were seen ducking for cover after missiles were launched from the crowd as they celebrated their third goal at Hampden.
And new pictures have shown a Budweiser can and Buckfast GLASS BOTTLE were two of the items thrown from the Rangers end yesterday.
The incident came after Martin Boyle smashed home a hat-trick sealing penalty just before half-time to hand the Edinburgh side a 3-0 lead.
Jack Ross’ men ran to join in the celebration in front of the 35,000 strong Gers support at the national stadium.
As the players dispersed to head back to halfway, Jake Doyle-Hayes and Josh Campbell were seen covering their heads from the missiles.
Referee Kevin Clancy and his linesman were seen on video looking up at the stand as the players gathered. Hibs players then helped the officials them kick the dangerous items off the playing surface.
Police Scotland, Rangers and Hibs have all been contacted for comment.
The SPFL has failed to make any comment on the incidents.
There will be diddly squat done about. Sevco will say their supporters threw the objects at the Hibs players to prevent them entering the stands. It was done to protect Sevco supporters from being attacked. The bottles and cans were left there by Celtic supporters the day before. Sevco will say fans have every right to protect themselves from marauding Hibs players or wrds to that affect.
They should have thrown the orange garbage they were wearing at their cowardly excuse of a manager hiding in the stand he’ll have nowhere to hide come New Year meeting bring em on.
These are the lowlife fans our club has helped to continue the myth of the same bigot club all for the blue pound.and bankier our chairman a good friend of the old rangers fc owner the crook Murray also I believe bankier was a season ticket holder of the old bankrupt rangers fc and well done hibs.
When I heard this story about missiles being lobbed at Hibs players I looked at “the daily record online” nothing.
As the rangers newspaper jumped all over a story about the hate filled atmosphere Sparta will face at Ibrox.
So the daily record get upset when someone speaks the”truth” but throwing missiles at Hibs players “NOTHING”
They don’t do losing well, saying that, they don’t do winning well either when they won the COVID league…rotten club/fans
No surprise that the governing bodies, the police or Rangers have made any comments, it’s just another incident to be swept under the carpet. The SFA and SPFL aren’t fit for purpose and the only way to effect real change in the game is to gut them from top to bottom. If the clubs are too spineless to do so then maybe the fans should be starting to ask more questions because I for one am sick of the mutants from Ipox getting a free ride at every turn and playing the victim card when they called out on their shit.
Just as in the two george square riots nothing will be done
Chelsea fans, whit are they like.
Very surprised Chelsea fans even bothered to travel up to Glasgow for such a foregone conclusion of a match, still, the SPFL and Sevco should be on the blower to Stamford Bridge for answers as to how they can’t control their fans.
I blame the schools.
