Celtic have announced an extended contract for Greg Taylor, keeping the defender at the club until 2025. Earlier this week Tony Ralston signed a similar deal.

Taylor is currently out of action after undergoing shoulder surgery and isn’t expected to be available again until the new year.

Following the £25m transfer of Kieran Tierney in the summer of 2019 Peter Lawwell sanctioned the signing of Boli Bolingoli from Rapid Vienna then brought in Taylor in the final day of the summer transfer window.

The former Kilmarnock man had to be patient to get his chance with Bolingoli and Jonny Hayes also competing for the left-back slot during the 2019/20 season.

Last season he started the season but the disastrous arrival of Diego Laxalt brought his run to a halt with Celtic’s results taking a remarkable downturn.

Since Taylor’s injury Bolingoli, Adam Montgomery and Liam Scales have all played left-back with Josip Juranovic currently the man in possession.
