Celtic have been credited with an interest in signing Marco Bizot in January.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper cost Brest £4.5m when he was signed from AZ Alkmaar during the summer but has failed to make an impression at his new club. The narrative reads very similar to that of Vasilias Barkas.

After the troubles of last season trying to replace Fraser Forster Celtic appear to have resolved a problem position with the arrival of Joe Hart.

At Spurs last season the former England keeper only played in cup ties but since joining Celtic at the start of August he has played in every minute of 22 matches

French website Homme du Match reports:

In difficulty since the start of the season, the Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot could leave the Stade Brestois as quickly as he arrived. The player who has never fully adapted to Brittany is indeed in the sights of Celtic Glasgow, who wants to secure his services this winter.

According to our information, the Scottish club are studying the possibility of obtaining a loan from the player first in January, an idea that will not suit Brest residents who will see no interest in it, unless a compulsory purchase option is not be included in the deal for next summer.

Bizot has conceded 21 goals in 13 appearances for Brest since his summer move and is under contract until June 2024.

Celtic are expected to try and move Barkas on in January, with Scott Bain and Conor Hazard they have two internationalists already at the club as back up to Hart.

A move for Bizot seems unlikely but the same could have been said for Hart when Ange Postecoglou started the season with Barkas in goals after appearing to impress during pre-season matches.
