One furious Sevco fan has dumped a Mister Gerrard cardboard cut-out at Ibrox and accused the new Aston Villa boss of disrespecting Walter Smith.

Last Wednesday hundreds of fans lined Edmiston Drive to show their dignified respect as the hearse carrying Smith took the leg-end on his final journey, news of his death had left many fans distraught.

Choking with emotion at news of Smith’s death Gerrard told ‘Rangers TV’ how the former Ibrox boss had made him a better person.

Seeing Gerrard in a Villa trackie on Remembrance Day proved to be too much for some fans, speaking to The Sun, Steven Fox, age 50 from Newton Mearns said:

I am very very disappointed. At the end of the day I feel like he has kind of left us in the lurch.

We are ahead of Celtic. And what I find really sad is he made a comment last week about Walter Smith when he said Walter Smith ‘made him the man he was’.

And one week after what happened to Walter he has left the club. It is a sad day for the club but at the end of the day we have to move on.

No one is bigger than the club and I hope Rangers don’t have the circus they had before and they appoint someone pretty quickly. That is the main thing for me and the supporters.

Fox wasn’t wearing a poppy when he spoke to The Sun.
