Kyogo Furuhashi has thanked the Celtic fans that voted for him as he was picked up the Europa League Goal of the Tournament award from UEFA.

Celtic’s matches against Ferencvaros were switched around but with a bizarre 3pm Tuesday kick-off around 50,000 fans were treated to a goal that they are unlikely to forget.

Jota created space deep inside his own half then delivered the perfect pass but it took two perfect touches from Kyogo to put the ball in the net to give Celtic the breakthrough.

Fans watching at home were treated to almost constant replays of the build-up, from a variety of angles the control and delivery from Jota was admired and commented on.

David Turnbull scrambled a second goal for Celtic against Ferencvaros but he won’t mind stepping aside to allow two of his team-mates to accept the acclaim from the award run by UEFA’s social media teams.
