Celtic laboured to a 1-0 win over Motherwell thanks to a goal from the training ground by Tom Rogic in first half stoppage time.

With no strikers available to Ange Postecoglou he had to improvise with a variety of players filling in at centre-forward throughout the match.

An injury to James Forrest cast a cloud over the first half with the winger back in the side after being substituted last week at half-time against Dundee United.

Motherwell struck the bar in the first half with Joe Hart pulling off a brave double save to keep the game goal-less before David Turnbull’s free-kick was netted by Rogic.

Celtic struck the woodwork twice early in the second half, a few decent chances fell to Rogic but there was no further scoring.

It looks like the same squad will be in action away to Ross County on Wednesday with all eyes on whether Kyogo Furuhashi is fit enough to be involved against Hibs at Hampden in seven days time.
