Sevco have issued a very restrained statement following the decision of the SPFL to bring forward the Premiership winter break.

Trips to Aberdeen and Celtic have been rescheduled with 49,500 loyal bears missing out on watching Sunday’s home match against St Mirren.

Since the prospect of bringing forward the break was suggested by Celtic on Tuesday afternoon social media has been swamped by howling Ibrox fans putting two and two together to get 222.

Ten SPFL clubs spoke out in favour of bringing the break forward, rather than a booming statement swinging at everyone involved at lunchtime today the club issued a very low key announcement specific to the St Mirren match:

This match will go ahead following discussions with fellow SPFL clubs in recent days.

We share the immense frustration of our loyal fans, who would have ensured the match would have been a sell-out, however, we will now only be able to welcome a miniscule proportion of that proposed crowd to the stadium.

A ballot will be held to ensure an extremely limited number of our season ticket holders will be able to attend the match, with those successful notified at the earliest opportunity. For those season ticket holders and hospitality clients unable to attend, the match will be shown live at no additional cost on RangersTV.

The next home game/pay day for the troubled club is on Friday January 21 when they host Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup.
