After signing Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona, Steven Gerrard is ready to raid the bargain bucket with a return to Ibrox.

The Sun is reporting that Glen Kamara and Borna Barisic are transfer targets for their former boss with Joe Aribo out of bounds due to his involvement at the African Cup of Nations.

Villa’s Coutinho deal includes an option to make the move permanent in the summer but the loose change from the transfer budget could secure a pair of Ibrox stars.

The Sun reports:

RANGERS fear having to fight off January bids for Glen Kamara and Borna Barisic. SunSport understands Aston Villa are weighing up a move for the Finnish cap, with ex-Gers boss Steven Gerrard keen to be reunited with the 26-year-old midfielder.

Earlier in the week it was reported that Watford had been told that there is a £5m fee on Barisic who turned 29 in November. Roma and Juventus have previously been linked with the Ibrox ace.

Strangely Ianis Hagi and Alfredo Morelos haven’t yet been linked with Villa.

Ashley watching with great interest won’t be surprised if any more sales will ask the court to ring fence part of his money the rangers owe his company.

I thought we were going to see a transfer window pass without the sale of the fat Colombian but alas no, the skint 2nd generation being helped out by the partisan media.
After the price for Patterson, is it any wonder that there will be numerous high bids to take the fat and useless, surprised that Stevie G has not been in for the Scouse housebreaker(Kent)
