Osaze Urhoghide could be heading to Dundee as part of the’push-of-war’ over Leigh Griffiths who seems unwanted by both clubs.

The striker moved to Dundee on the final day of the summer transfer window but has delivered just two goals for his old Hibs and Livingston team-mate James McPake.

According to The Sun there is an enforceable break clause in the Griffiths deal but both clubs seem to be in discussions over the striker with Urhoghide’s name popping up as part of a solution.

DUNDEE are eyeing a deal for Celtic defender Osaze Urhoghide. James McPake wants the ex-Sheffield Wednesday defender to bolster his back line for the second half of the season.

The Dundee gaffer is currently in negotiations with Celtic about Leigh Griffiths’ loan deal and the break clause that is enforceable this month.

And the possibility of taking the Dutchman to Dens has also arisen. Urhoghide joined Celtic on a four-year deal last summer along with Liam Shaw, who was farmed out to Motherwell this week.

Celtic, who don’t want Griffiths back for the final six months of his deal, want the stopper playing games so see Dundee as a platform to get experience in the Premiership.

Loan deals are normally cut and dried, the options are clear cut but Celtic seem to be resisting the possibility of Griffiths returning to the club that he joined in January 2014.

Urhoghide was reported to have been the target of interest from Morecombe with a loan deal likely before the end of the month.

Celtic have Scott Robertson on loan at Crewe with Lee O’Connor and Ross Doohan down a division at Tranmere Rovers.

So far in this window Ewan Henderson and Liam Shaw have gone out on loan to SPFL Premiership clubs with Urhoghide likely to be heading in a similar direction.
