Jake Hastie is on his way back to Ibrox after another failed spell out on loan.

In the second half of the 2018/19 season the chunky winger returned to Motherwell from an indifferent spell out on loan at Alloa, suddenly he found form, scored six goals in 12 appearances with some pundits attempted to tag him alongside David Turnbull.

Hastie earned a dream move to Ibrox, signing in the summer of 2019 alongside Jordan Jones and Brandon Barker, on the final day of the transfer window Ryan Kent arrived from Liverpool.

Wing wonder Hastie went out on loan to Rotherham but was returned in the February, in July 2020 he returned on loan to Motherwell but the old magic had gone with no goals from seven starts and seven substitute appearances.

Now after coming off the bench six times for Partick Thistle, Hastie is preparing to return to Murray Park with 18 months left on his Sevco deal.

Discussing the flying winger, The Daily Record reports:

He has been warming the Firhill bench for three months with his last appearance coming in October 30 against Dunfermline.

Boss Ian McCall bombed with winger out of his matchday squad entirely during the draw with Hamilton on Saturday.

With his loan coming to an end this month, the Jags are unlikely to look to extend the short-term deal and he is expected to return to Auchenhowie in the coming days.

After three failed loan spells it’ll be a brave or very foolish manager that turns to the 22-year-old to give his club a lift.
