Celtic and Dundee remain in talks over Leigh Griffiths with an SFA charge from the end of September clouding the issue.

The striker was sent on loan to Dens Park at the end of August but on September 22 was involved in an incident with St Johnstone fans that has still to be dealt with by the SFA.

It seems fairly clear that Dundee want to return Griffiths to Celtic but at his media conference on Thursday Ange Postecoglou made it clear that the striker’s future lies elsewhere.

Finding another club prepared to take Griffiths on loan with the prospect of a suspension to come looks unlikely as Celtic and Dundee continue to hold talks.

The Daily Record reports:

James McPake spoke of his frustration as he revealed Sam Cosgrove knocked back the Taysiders because he doesn’t want to come back to Scotland.

The Dark Blues, who also remain in talks with Celtic over Leigh Griffiths’ loan situation, have been working hard on a number of transfer fronts but so far the only deal they have got over the line has been that of Canadian international Jay Chapman, who is now waiting for his work permit.

Osaze Urhoghide has also been discussed between the two clubs but it seems strange that there is no black and white position on Griffiths.

After two goals in 14 SPFL Premiership appearances it is clear that Dundee need greater firepower to get away from the relegation positions.
