Two more signings? Celtic rumour round up

Celtic’s January transfer activity is far from over according to one fan that was ‘mooching around the posh seats; at last night’s 2-0 win over Hibs.

The hoops got off to a flying start by bringing in Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi the day before the transfer window officially opened.

Those deals had been strongly anticipated with Ange Postecoglou making good use of the new boys in last night’s victory.

Last week Posecoglou wasn’t at his cheeriest when he discussed Riley McGree opting to go to Middlesbrough with the Celtic boss admitting that no other deals were in the pipeline.

Getting rid of Vasilis Barkas, Ismaila Soro and Boli Bolingoli will help clear out the Lawwell legacy but having been enticed to Scotland by lucrative contracts none of those players will be in a hurry to pick up pay-cuts elsewhere. Transfer fees seem unlikely.

Last night’s win was achieved without Kyogo Furuhashi, Chris Jullien and Nir Bitton which indicates the depth of squad Postecoglou has developed.

Adam Montgomery and Osaze Urhoghide are likely to go out on loan while Joey Dawson and Owen Moffat get experience in the Lowland League alongside recent signing Johnny Kenny.
