Across the world on Saturday there were a few outbreaks of celebration.

Around Celtic Park at 2pm news of a late equaliser for Ross County sent fans into a frenzy of anticipation ahead of the home match against Dundee United.

Unfortunately the Taysiders weren’t prepared to play along with the script, the anticipated home win was under real threat as the first half ended goal-less. As the second half progressed the breakthrough seemed to become even more elusive.

When Nir Bitton was sent off the odds on a home win lengthened but as the clock edged towards 90 Liel Abada controlled a cross from Jota then drilled his shot into the net.

From Dalmarnock to Dubai the relief was obvious. At the Dubai Hoops the mix of ex-pats, workers and holiday-makers celebrated the goal in full.

A 7pm kick-off on a Saturday is very socially acceptable, from 9pm onwards the mood was assured and celebratory.

On Wednesday the kick-off time will be 11.45pm, Thursday may not be the most productive of days in certain pockets of the Emirate.
