Ange Postecoglou has admitted that he expects players to leave Celtic this window but it isn’t something that is being driven by the club.

Last summer there was a large scale exodus of players with a mix of departing loanees, Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard going to the EPL for big fees with others such as Scott Brown, Ryan Christie, Olivier Ntcham and Leigh Griffiths departing in differing circumstances.

Celtic have already used 39 players this season but with Postecoglou putting his stamp on the squad there are still some Lawwell legacy issues to be resolved.

Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas and Boli Bolingoli will probably be among the top 10 earners at the club while Ismaila Soro won’t be in that category but has probably dropped to 10th choice midfielder with three players brought in for that position this month.

With contracts lasting at least until May 2023 the ball is very much in the player’s court with no real speculation over clubs interested in any of that quartet.

Question: Where are you in terms of the rest of January? There are 10 days left, do you see anyone else coming in or is it now a case of getting some out as well? The likes of Soro and such like.

AP: As I said last week we will stay agile. If circumstances change, as we sit right now, I don’t want to give Michael (Nicholson) and the Finance Department too many sleepless nights but we’re not talking to anyone else or looking to bring anyone else in.

In terms of moving out, I said a couple of days ago that we’re not actively trying to get anyone out of the club, it is just about trying to find opportunities for guys who haven’t had a lot of game time and with the competition now for places may not get a lot of game time.

We’re working with a few of the boys to see what opportunities there are out there. With experience those sort of things tend to happen later in the window. We’re 10 days out, once you get to the final week we’ll see what opportunities are there for the lads who are, who want to look elsewhere.
