A second half header from Emmanuel Dennis gave Watford an away win at Aston Villa to drag Steven Gerrard’s side closer to the relegation battle.Â
It was Watford’s first goal in four matches but lifted them to nine points behind Gerrard’s side with the vastly experienced Roy Hodgson showing that his side won’t be going down without a scrap.Â
Steven Gerrard arrived at the club with a bubble reputation inflated by particular friendly sports journalists and in recent weeks it has duly been pricked.

Five points from their last seven matches is ominous form as the Villa players and fans realise that the Messiah in their dug out is actually bang average and massively over-hyped. Newcastle, Leeds and Watford were faced in that run suggesting that troubled times are ahead.
Three of Villa’s next four matches are away from home which will test the coaching ability of Michael Beale and Gary McAllister at a time when teams that have been at the foot of the table have a habit of picking up points.Â
Newcastle are fourth bottom, five behind Villa while Burnley’s 3-0 win away at Brighton leaves them 10 behind Villa with two matches in hand.Â
In 14 matches at Villa Mister Gerrard has won five games, drew two and lost seven.Â

Steven Gerrard: “I’ve had a really honest conversation with the players. We need to wake up and wake up fast because our recent form and our recent performances are way short of what’s needed to move up this table.” #AVFC

Klopp’s successor, Steven Gerrard, was the biggest downgrade from Dean Smith that Villa could have made.
After all the money they threw at him he has more losses than victories

So who is going to talk about the managerial form of Steven Gerrard?

I thought Steven Gerrard was the messiah. Second coming of Jesus ?

Well the Steven Gerrard honeymoon period is well and truly over. We’ve got two world class players in the midfield, yet all we do is get our wide players to lob needless balls into the box. Was the Young for Cash sub really necessary?

Who cares why is this article on here about the bigots ex manager.
Editor: Because I like writing about him him getting found out and folk like reading about it.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Course av no goat a FUKIN CLUE LOL!!
Wee Geo’s next in line for the messiah patter from the Scottish press. I wonder if he’ll be next in line for the Villa job after Gerrard’s emptied.
The closest Gerrard will get to the Liverpool job will be Tranmere Rovers – if they’ll have him.
Well said ,the editor I’m pissy sick of all the fawning they do over Sevco managers ,past and present.
Him , the squid and tactics guru Beale getting found out now they’ve not got refs bailing them out with penalties when the team is toiling and carefully managed media pressers fawning over them
Aye all the penalties and sending off would be handy in the sh1t he’s in now. Nae masons to help him out. You’ve been caught out Slippy. Remember the old saying – be careful who you dump on, on the way up – Cause on the way doon…..
