Celtic’s B team came from behind to earn a 2-1 win away to Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Rocco Vata returned from international duty with the Ireland u-17 side to level the scores early in the second half with Owen Moffat supplying the winner.

Celtic are restricted to fielding an u-20 side in the competition but all of the players on show will be eligible to play again next season if the trial/experiment continues.

After a short period of adjustment at the start of the season the squad has found its feet at this level with the exposure to older more experienced opponents accelerating the development of the players involved.

The homeside took the lead in the 10th minute but nine minutes into the second half Vata scored after a driving run down the right flank was complimented by a fierce shot past the home keeper.

With 12 minutes left to play Moffat gave the young hoops full points when he scored from distance.

CELTIC: Oluwayemi; Dede, Murray, Corr, McKenzie; Letsosa (Doak 70) , Carse, Summers (Kyle Ure 83), Vata, Brooks (Dawson 79), Moffat

SUBS: Morrison, Easton, Deane
