The online team at BBC Scotland made their priorities very clear following Celtic’s emphatic win in the Glasgow derby.

Reo Hatate was the star man with two goals but his performance was almost matched by Josip Juranovic who put in a storming display at right-back that was everything that you want to see in a full-back.

Momentum is turning Celtic’s way, there has been a seven point swing at the top of the table in just over a fortnight, one team is on the up and up while another looks to be a result or two away from collapsing.

Despite those obvious talking points the team on Sportscene decided to concentrate on a decision in the moments before Hatate opened the scoring. Two of Gio van Bronckhorst players collided, they fell to the ground but there was no head knocks, the collided, bumped into each other in their eagerness to clear a corner.

Not only was that the point that they took from Sportscene but that was also the headline story from the newspapers in their round up of gossip.

Last night’s match could very well be the most significant of the season, there is a multitude of issues worth reporting on with the vast resources of BBC Scotland who covered the game live on radio, had television highlights at 11pm and extensive online coverage.

It seems that BBC Scotland have their eye off the ball for the bigger issues.

Well I suppose that is one way to nullify corners: just get two of your players to run into each other and force the referee to stop the game.
