Liam Scales has shared a little insight into Ange Postecoglou’s half time team talk against Raith Rovers.

The Irishman has opened the scoring with a brilliant strike from the edge of the penalty box but it didn’t require a body language expert to read the mood of his manager.

Postecoglou’s touchline expressions rarely change other than after a goal but there was a strong sense of frustration about the first 45 minutes of the Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers.

Premier Sports viewers picked up a little of the mood halfway through the first half with Scales adding some detail in the Daily Record:

The manager got that message across it wasn’t good enough and you saw the difference in the second half.

I’m not sure why, we just weren’t clicking. It happens in football but we needed to be quicker and Raith did quite well.

It’s a reminder the standards are so high. He wants us on top of our game no matter who we are playing against – and rightly so.

Does he have his moments? I’m not sure if I can say! It’s obviously frustrating for him when we are not getting to the levels we know we can. He has to get his point across, like every manager does.

The introduction of Jota after 55 minutes raised the tempo of Celtic’s play but there was a general feeling of frustration despite a 4-0 win to secure a place in the last eight of the Scottish Cup.

From Thursday onwards there is little margin for error in Celtic’s performances with yesterday’s players given a blunt reminder of what is expected of them.
