John Hartson could never be put down as one of those embittered former players desperate to attack his former club.

It is 15 years since he last played for the club but the passion that he showed on the pitch has been transferred into his various media roles.

Often he will be a lone voice standing up for the club which makes it more significant when he voices his criticisms.

There was plenty of issues highlighted by last night’s 3-1 defeat from Bodo Glimt with the second goal for the Norwegians and Greg Taylor’s role picked out for criticism.

Picking up on his comments on BT Sport, the Daily Record reports Hartson saying:

O’Riley does well, he works back so Celtic are two versus one defensively but Greg Taylor’s got to show him down the line. He’s cut inside so, so easily. Look at this, this is so feeble from Taylor.

Watch, how easy is that? Show him down the line, your body angle is in the wrong shape for a start. He cuts inside, that is just far too easy.

And then you’ve got Pellegrino on the back post, Juranovic switches off, look at him trying to play offside when Pellegrino is three yards in front of him. It’s a poor goal to concede

Ange Postecoglou has plenty to think over as he prepares his squad for Sunday’s home match against Dundee.

The Celtic boss has shown a willingness to rotate his squad during a stretch of two games a week with Liam Scales or Josip Juranovic alternatives to Taylor at left-back.

Taylor was at fault for the first also. Starfelt is getting the blame, but he was forced to cover Taylor position after he went running in to get the ball in a crowd and left the left flank wide open. I’m not getting into a witch hunt, but it’s definitely an area we’ve struggled with since Tierney left.

    KEEP THE FAITH??

This is not about a witch hunt, taylor cannot defend and his distribution is awful. Fact. For a team to progress it has to constantly be looking for better players.

Taylor has to go he is hopeless , how many times have we watched him non tackle get caught out of position get caught fir pace , give the ball away . I’d buy the boy they had at centre back last night plus I’d look at their goalkeeper his distribution from the back was superb for our style of play
