The van Bronckhorst record that the Scottish media don’t want to go near

As we were constantly reminded until 2 October 2021 at Pittodrie, Celtic were on a run of over seven months without an away win in the SPFL.

The summer months were added with the records under Neil Lennon and John Kennedy served up to Ange Postecoglou at every turn with the SPFL computer sending Celtic to Tynecastle, Ibrox and the Tony Macaroni in the first batch of fixtures.

The away record was never far from the surface at media conferences.

Taking charge of a team riding high at the top of the league and involved in European competition doesn’t happen often but inheriting that package seems to be proving too much for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Last season the Ibrox squad went through the season unbeaten, romping to the title by 25 points from matches played with no fans in the stadium.

After three successive home matches to finish 2021 van Bronckhorst closed the year out with a comfortable six point lead at the top of the SPFL. This morning the Ibrox men are three points behind Celtic and without an away win since December 12 at Tynecastle.

A squad full of proven winners has failed to take full points away to Aberdeen, Ross County, Celtic and Dundee United.

It seems that under van Bronckhorst something is missing from last season’s champions, at least he can look forward to the introduction of Aaron Ramsey with the on loan Juventus star yet to play for more than 15 minutes in a Premiership fixture.

They got all the help in the world last season to win the league last season here are a few sfa, spfl, krankie sturgeon, COVID rules which a few of their players broke and not a thing done about it, last but not least the police.

If you seriously believe that’s government busily trying to keep a lid on COVID is trying to do down a football team, you should be supporting Sevco. Grow up.

      • Seppington says:

I don’t think he’s saying they were “doing us down” but it’s undeniable that they sure as hell weren’t as stringent in applying their Covid diktats when it came to Sevco…

What i’ve been reading since yesterday afternoon is that they dropped 2 points but everything in the garden is rosy because they had 29 shots on goal

    Yet they scored just once

Imagine we were 6 points clear and then found ourselves 3 points behind , every picture in every paper you’d see of Ange would be with his head in his hands
