BBC Scotland’s diminishing credibility suffered another blow last night when their Sports Department produced a 150 second history of two different football clubs.

One was maybe formed in 1872, celebrated its centenary in 1873 then went into administration and liquidation in 2012. A new club was formed by Charles Green backed by Mike Ashley and Ally McCoist who coined it in with penny shares.

BBC Scotland documented the events of 2012 on a daily basis, on radio, television and online.

Like other media outlets BBC Scotland bought into the Continuity Lie, last night’s video contained a subtitle of ‘But Rangers financial problems result in a place in the Third Division of the Scottish Football League’. Wrong, inaccurate, lies.

Bizarrely there is apparently a feud between the state broadcaster and the club from Ibrox, one that dates back to 2015 with BBC Scotland not attending media conferences or going to matches at Ibrox.

That doesn’t stop them from lapping up every moonbeam fed out to approved media partners- with Tom English, Steven Thompson, Kenny Macintyre, Richard Foster, Cammy Bell, Kenny Miller, Derek Ferguson, Alasdair Lamont and Mark Hateley fronting almost all football coverage there is a very certain theme running through the output of BBC Scotland.

Last month the BBC were forced to apologise to Celtic over a crass tweet from chief sports writer Tom English.
