Despite the humiliation of having to delete a tweet and seeing his bosses having to apologise in public about his crass comment on Shane Warne, Tom English still hasn’t shaken off his obsession about Celtic.
A legendary cricketer in his fifties dies of a heart attack- focus on Celtic. Aston Villa player scored for Scotland- focus on Celtic.
English isn’t smart or cute enough to use Twitter as his Warne tweet demonstrated. He might revel in the ‘interactions’ generated but one more step out of line and his days in the lucrative comfy armchair provided by the state broadcaster will be over. He might find the real commercial world challenging.
Apparently the egg-chasing expert from Limerick suggested in 2018 that Celtic should sign John McGinn from Hibs. Some tweets recovered from that period show English claiming that the midfielder wouldn’t get into the Celtic side.
Of course English does have form with judging footballers. He didn’t rate Virgil van Dijk very highly but perhaps the Dutchman was just playing for the wrong club at that time.
While happy to delve back into the events of 2018 it seems that what happened in 2012 inside Scottish football is completely embargoed by English and his chums with BBC Scotland.
Absolute pish, Celtic met the fee but Hibs chose to sell to Villa. He also wanted a guarantee to play every week when we had an Invincible team. Guess what, he still wouldn’t play every week in our team… ? ? pic.twitter.com/yHiCDZIHJQ

Uncle Tom’s also on record for saying Virgil Van Dijk was “vastly over-rated”. Sadly, Tom has a vastly overrated opinion of himself. His knowledge of football is on a par with your average tight head prop after a head knock. The only thing he excels in is finding anti-Celtic spin https://t.co/zeSG1ta8Gx

Tom you really are an absolute ??? aren’t you #celtic stay within their financial budget unlike a club #raginfc south side #Glasgow who spend, spend, spend 1994- 2012 & what happened they went bust. Here endith the lesson pic.twitter.com/RKSwLQznAd

It’s a nice idea, but in all honesty he wouldn’t have displaced Scott Brown or calmac in centre of Celtic midfield.
Which would only have held back his development.
If you want to rake over the past, fancy a walk down memory lane?
Say events in 2012 & a club being liquidated?

Somebody at shortbread must be goading this dick to have a go at Celtic. Probably thinking if they done it they’d get rinsed. Let the Irish “uncle tom” do it. He needs to wisen up.bHH
