When Graham Spiers sent a tweet of support to Kenny Macintyre it prompted another pile-on of the BBC Scotland presenter.
After years of pretending to be neutral and impartial Macintyre finally slid out of the closet to declare himself on January 31 as he celebrated the marquee signing of Aaron Ramsey.
Anyone who had ever tuned in to his cosy, soft soap interviews with Barry Ferguson or any of his EBT heroes would be in no doubt which team Macintyre drools over 24/7, on duty or off.
Celtic’s 2-0 win over St Mirren last week proved to be one match too many for the BBC’s pitch-side reporter.
Interviewing Ange Postecoglou after the match Macintyre told the Celtic boss that the match had been a hard watch- it certainly would be if you were watching your rivals maintain their three point lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership.
The Celtic boss is in no doubt about Macintyre’s attitude to all things Celtic, future interviews with the Greek-Australian are likely to be a hard listen for the Ibrox loving BBC anchor-man.
I genuinely really enjoy @BBCSportsound when my pal @kennymacsport is in charge: always punchy and lively. A really good listen. And Rory Loy is thoroughly engaging too.

You still hurting after Ange slapped you down Kenny?
— Kevin Barry (@KBG1888) March 9, 2022
Comes with the job……if you do it properly.
— Kenny Macintyre (@kennymacsport) March 9, 2022
Maybe you two should just DM each other. Instead of this pathetic love in ?
— Alba Gu Brath (@jazzyb1888) March 10, 2022
???! This gets better and better! The clowns of journalism crawling back out from under their stones!
— Bigsteamers (@bigsteamers) March 10, 2022
A ‘hard watch’ is how you described a well deserved victory for a team that was playing against a team that wouldnt come out their own 18 yard box.
— Allybhoy (@ally_bhoy) March 10, 2022
I bet Feb 2nd was an even harder watch ?
— TC (@TcTommybhoy) March 10, 2022
Graham he is a fan with a microphone who hosts the BBC Ibrox podcast…he has never shown journalistic impartiality and does not hide his contempt or bias when dealing with Celtic…a man who would sit well with the likes of David Edgar and Chris Graham
— 74 Strand (@74Strand1) March 9, 2022
Yeah just not very good at hiding his bias and disappointment when Celtic win.
Ange has him in his pocket with the rest of the bluenosed media.
— 3rdFrame (@The3rdFrame) March 10, 2022
Take it from who? He only interviews or talks to Rangers oriented people so nobody will disagree. No Celtic fan listens to the bigoted rat
— James Hewitt (@JamesHe43607135) March 10, 2022
Ange was just too sharp for him.
— 3rdFrame (@The3rdFrame) March 10, 2022
You’ve obviously not kept up, Tam.?
— Graham Spiers (@GrahamSpiers) March 9, 2022
I can’t forget the excitement in wee kenny’s voice the day that Celtic drew at Easter Rd presenting The Rangers International with “a massive opportunity” against Motherwell.
— Teesandcees (@Teesbeesandcees) March 10, 2022
I agree mate, @gordonduncan7 is the best broadcaster/presenter in Scottish football. Fair, impartial, intelligent and good humoured. Makes the rest of them look like jacked up amateurs.
Ps. I agree on Richard Gordon and I too don’t listen when it’s the Ibrox overload on BBC.

BBC Staunch Sound

The main problem Kenny has is that he struggles to maintain an impartiality during the show. He would benefit from a stronger panel to improve the ‘devil’s advocate’ aspect.
— Declan Tim (@tim_declan) March 10, 2022
I’m afraid I find @kennymacsport quite a hard listen.
— GWR ?????????? (@gwr_67) March 10, 2022
Turn off when kennymacsport and his ibrokes team come on.
— Badger (@Badger_M) March 10, 2022
On @BBCSportscene on Sunday to cover the Celtic game they had 4 ex-Ibrox players…FOUR bluenoses and not one ex-Livi or pro-Celtic man…BBC Scotland really needs to address its lack of impartiality. It’s beyond a joke.
— 3rdFrame (@The3rdFrame) March 9, 2022
Aye… Ange’s “mate”…Bilious Billy the BBC bigot?????
— Alfa6409 (@Alfa6409) March 9, 2022
Graham loved your company and writing back in the day drinking in Heraghty’s with Kevin Mck but BBC Sport Scotland under Richard Wilson is beyond the pale and shaping fake narrative # Your better than that
— mick dee (@MickD67) March 9, 2022
Any programme Bluenose Broadcasting Cabal (BBC) is a “hard watch”. Defund the BBC.
