The manager of Omonia Nicosia took time off from his busy schedule to contact a foreign podcast to bleat about former team-mates from almost 20 years ago.

When the manager is revealed as Neil Lennon the surprise element disappears, the former Celtic boss seems completely unable to move on in his career.

I don’t think Ange Postecoglou has said anything derogatory about the dog’s dinner of a squad that he inherited from Lennon and his boss Peter Lawwell.

Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor have been about the extent of the handover plus Tom Rogic who Lennon was keen to shift out the door in the summer of 2020. Fortunately he failed.

After criticising the squad that had delivered nine-in-a-row and claimed that Celtic were hit worse than anyone else by the Lockdown it seems that last season’s anger has now been transferred to some of the players that he shared a dressing room with under Martin O’Neill.

Is it Didier Agathe, Joos Valgaeren, Paul Lambert or Rab Douglas that Lennon is angry with? We can only guess, just like in August 2020 when Celtic’s defeat to Ferencvaros wasn’t down to the manager but to un-named players who wanted to leave during a pandemic three months after clinching a ninth title.

It has with some other people, ex-team-mates… But certainly not with those two. I was very close to them and I still am.

Yes [they were team-mates critical of me]. I’m far from happy. They were basically stabbing me not in the back, but in the front.

It seems that someone is a little uncomfortable that another manager is close to bringing the SPFL title back to Celtic after the carnage of last season.

Why does he not just shut up and let us forget how much of a mess he made of such an important season instead of shouting his mouth off. Every time he speaks the less resoect he is due.

Lennon has wasted his life and this blaming others for his failures is symptomatic of someone who has lost the plot and who cannot accept responsibility for his own inept dealings with people. In brief, he was a chancer! How many times did he throw players under the bus?

If I remember correctly, there were problems with dealing with players in his earlier tenure and who could forget his atrocious way of dealing with Alan Thompson. How did he help Alan Thompson? I don’t wish to be too hard, but he accused Mr Thompson of having the same problem as he himself had and so he was sacked. Alan Thompson gave him his full support and protection when he was subjected to that vile bigotry and violence at Tynecastle. Sheer hypocrisy.

In the video shown here, he ignores questions by inference and has a very arrogant and smug appearance. It is time to keep him from the limelight before he ends up like Gasgoine. Leave him alone and do not encourage his ramblings.
