Raman Bhardwaj was left almost speechless as he discovered that Kemar Roofe will miss at least the next three Tribute Act matches.

As a trusted media partner the STV presenter was invited, alongside Follow Follow and Heart & Hand, to this morning’s Ibrox media conference.

The feel good factor from Hampden didn’t last long as Bhardwaj asked the first question about injury updates.

After the semi-final against Celtic when Aaron had to come off with a hamstring problem, we assessed him this week and hopefully we’ll have him back around Leipzig home game (May 5).

We also had a problem with Kemar Roofe after the game. The next day he felt his knee and for him it is the same (as Ramsey) he will be out for some weeks and also for me to pick around the Leipzig home game.

Bhawdwaj was gutted at that update, after taking a deep breath he came back with ‘So, that limits your striking options, doesn’t it’.

With Cedric Itten left out of the Europa League squad and Jermain Defoe paid off in January van Bronckhorst will try to play Scott Wright or Fashion Sakala through the centre in the next couple of matches.

With the injury history of Ramsey and Roofe it would be something of a surprise if they were both to be fit for the return leg against Leipzig where they might be required to play for 120 minutes.

Tomorrow with a 12 noon kick-off at Motherwell van Bronckhorst will have to dig into his squad while Steve Davis, Scott Arfield, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Allan McGregr wait to find out if they will be offered new contracts with their current deals expiring next month.
