Chris Sutton has issued a warning to Celtic ahead of Sunday’s match away to Ross County.

A six point lead with five matches to go is a very healthy lead but 24 hours before they are in action the lead could be halved when Giovanni van Bronckhorst takes his side to Motherwell.

Sunday’s result at Hampden was more than a defeat- the performance was completely out of character for the team that hadn’t lost domestically going back to September.

The spotlight will be on Ange Postecoglou’s squad on Sunday with Sutton wary of a number of aspects going into the game.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said:

It’s a difficult game. The pitch was horrific a month ago and we know Celtic like to play a passing game.

We don’t know if Giakoumakis will be fit. I know Kyogo is back in but Giakoumakis has physicality and brings a different dimension.

In terms of getting the momentum back, if Celtic beat Ross County they will go in to the Rangers game knowing one last push and the league is won. On the flip side, any points dropped will leave the door open for Rangers.

Celtic have to concentrate on the process and go back to what’s got them in to this position, being ruthless and super creative. Sunday was one of the only times this season where they lacked a bit of nous in the final third.

We must not forget how far Celtic have come. Fans would have bitten the hand off to be six points behind at this stage, never mind six in front. There’s still a long way to go but this weekend could be a step closer.

On March 19 Celtic beat Ross County 4-0 at home with Giorgos Giakoumakis scoring a hat-trick.

Getting the former VVV Venlo striker fit and ready for Sunday’s match will give Celtic a big boost, when they went to Dingwall in December Giakoumakis, Kyogo Furuhashi, Albian Ajeti and Jota were all out injured.
