Filip Helander will hoin Alfredo Morelos and Ianis Hagi in the Ibrox treatment room for the rest of the season.

The defender suffered an ankle or foot injury late on in the first half of Sunday’s SPFL victory away to St Mirren. Earlier this season Helander spent five months out injured.

Leon King replaced the Swede against St Mirren with Leon Balogun expected to play tomorrow against Braga with Helander left out of the Europa League squad.

Calvin Bassey is another option to play alongside Connor Goldson in central defence but that option involves restoring Borna Barisic to play at left-back.

Aaron Ramsey was put up to face the media this morning alongside van Bronckghorst suggesting that the Juventus ace will play against Braga.

With Steven David in Balon d’Or form against St Mirren there is plenty of competition for places with Ryan Jack, John Lundstram, Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield forming the four man midfield in the first leg defeat to Braga.

Since signing from Bologna in July 2019 Helander has started 35 SPFL matches, less than 12 per season.
