Celtic fans are unlikely to ever see the striking skills of Alfredo Morelos again in the flesh.

Yesterday it was announced that the Colombian ace had undergone thigh surgery and wouldn’t play again this season.

With his contract expiring in May 2023 it is likely that Morelos will be sold this summer with clubs across Europe hoping to snap up a bargain.

From his first days at Ibrox the former HJK Helsinki starlet was being compared to Moussa Dembele with the gullible expecting a similar sized fee for the striker.

Since the moonbeams were launched over an £8m bid from a mystery Chinese side the speculation about a transfer has been non-stop, strangely not one bid has ever been placed for the torn-faced ace.

Now with just over 12 months to go on his deal the Ibrox club are unlikely to be hard to deal with for the striker with one winners medal and two derby goals, both scored Behind Closed Doors, to his name.

El Gordo Lardasso will be sorely missed.

Wonder how many chins he’ll accrue over the next few months? As many as Ballchinian Park?
