Old donkey Joe Hart has paid tribute to Ange Postecoglou for turning his career around.Â
Since 2016 the goalkeeper’s career had been on the decline, surplus to Pep Guardiola’s requirements at Manchester City he was on a slippery slope via Torino, West Ham and Burnley when he was brutally told that the first team door was closed at Spurs.Â
Hart could have licked his wounds, accepted 12 more EPL paydays, continuing his slip into obscurity.Â
In the summer of 2020 talks with Celtic broke down but under Ange Postecoglou a new keeper was badly needed after Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain played in the first two matches of the season.Â
Hart spoke again to the club, liked the attitude of the straight-talking Aussie, a quick deal was agreed with the keeper flying off to the Czech Republic where he made his debut in a bizarre 4-2 win over Jablonec. Since then neither party has had cause for regret.Â

It’s probably the biggest compliment that I can pay him, he has made an old donkey like me feel young again.Â
